Prelude

Back in 1998, in the wild west days of the internet, Jenner and Kaiser met one another online way before it was normal. They were brought together by their shared interest in the Lunar series, and their relationship flourished on various internet forums — he, the vigilant moderator, and she, the constant troublemaker.

Seeing him as her nemesis, Jenner began to instant message Kaiser. What started off as a silly internet rivalry became a close friendship. They spent hours chatting online and, later, on the phone.

When it began

In June of 2007 they finally met in person and had a fantastic time together. Everything was going wonderfully until it was time for Jenner to return home, at which point...

Kaiser: By the way, we can never be together.
Jenner: What? Why are you saying this?
Kaiser: It's not something I can really explain... We just shouldn't...
Jenner: No, I know you. You have a reason for everything. Why?
Kaiser: Well, actually, I have seven specific reasons. Would you like to hear them? Okay. Reason number one... ...wait, why are you glaring at me?

Miraculously, Jenner forgave him for being such a jerk, and Kaiser came to his senses and stopped being such a jerk. Their friendship continued, and eventually developed into something more.

The engagement

Years later, on August 13, 2011, Kaiser invited Jenner along to the Luray and Skyline Caverns. There, underneath some crystals...

Kaiser: Hey, come take a look at this.
Jenner: What is it?
Kaiser: Well...
