Lunar: Legend, Section 5


5.1) MERIBIA - City Under Siege

You got here just in time! These guys are endless! After you use the White Dragon Wings you reappear in Meribia. Apparently they're a transportation device to places you've already been--if you think about it, it takes an entire spring or an incredibly powerful magician to wield transfer magic across such long distances. Well, once you set down in Meribia, you find the place under attack by the Vile Tribe. Jessica runs up to you and tries to explain what's going on as a couple of Gargoyles run up to attack you. After dispensing of them--hopefully they're no problem--Jessica asks what happened to Ghaleon and Luna, as she thought they'd be with him. Nall sadly explains what happened: Ghaleon is truly the Magic Emperor and Luna was taken by him. Jessica is furious, but as she's agreeing to help Alex with his problem you hear a sound coming from Mel's mansion. Jessica will join you to go check it out.

What did you say? That idiot, going alone like that! There are roadblocks through the streets, so you're going to have to take a few detours to get to Mel's Mansion. Heal up at that Althena's Statue first and head west. Go a bit south then east along the road all the way to the park (You can stop by Ramus' shop on the way, he's still amazingly in business.) Go south and east on the road past the park then straight up to Mel's Mansion. As you enter, one of Mel's associates rushes up, relieved to see Jessica well, since everyone was worried about her. She assures him that she's alright and asks how her father is. Hesitating, the man stutters out that Mel is alone in the training room with the leader of the Vile Tribe, shutting the door behind them to battle. You have to help him.

A..lex... Please... Jes..sica....... Go straight to the training room from here. It's on the second floor (northeast staircase). From there, take the hallway straight down to the southeast corner of the second floor and the door is at the end of the hallway. You enter to find Mel facing off against Xenobia, telling him that, in the name of Magic Emperor Ghaleon, she'll force all humanity into submission. Mel is slightly confused by her speaking of Ghaleon like that just as Jessica rushes in. Mel tells her to get out of there, but then Xenobia summons up and fires off a powerful spell. Mel pushes his daughter out of the way and blocks the shot, turning into stone--just before he's completely petrified, he asks Alex to help Jessica; Xenobia says that leaves only one of the four heroes to go. Alex demands Xenobia tell him where they took Luna; but she laughs and slips out. Jessica takes Mel back to the room and tries to cure him, to no avail. She then decides to join Alex to help him defeat Ghaleon and the Vile Tribe to return her father to normal. Trying to figure where to go next, she suggests to find Lemia Ausa. Vane, then, is you're next stop. Go to the entrance of Meribia and heal at the Althena's Statue first before you leave.

5.2) HAG'S HOUSE - Secret Card Collection

The card lady? You should go meet her, but just stop by occasionally. Before going to Vane, however, if you'd like to start checking in on a secret then use the White Dragon Wings to head to Saith first (using the wings brings up a list of places you've been to, to find out what they mean, see the White Dragon Wings explanation under the Miscellaneous section). There, speak with leprechaun-looking man in the center of town, just south of the well. He'll tell you of the card lady, a card trader who lives in the forest to the West of Saith.

Well, since you took all the trouble in coming, take this Head outside Saith and a new location will open on Caldor Isle: the Hag's House (the only other place besides the Goat Forest you can go to from Saith). Go there, head north, and enter the house. Talk to the woman inside and she'll give you a card of the recently-deceased Quark. (If you check back after visiting each subsequent dragon, you can pick up those cards as well.) Check where the arrow is and you'll see she has complete sets of all the Monster, Character, and Rare cards. Yeah, she's caught 'em all.

5.3) VANE - Advice and Ugly Monsters

No, we were able to fight them off, but we fear they may return! Use the White Dragon's Wings to transport directly to Vane. Once you arrive, head up and you'll run into both Nash and Mia. They greet you and Jessica asks if the Vile Tribe has tried to attack them yet; Mia replies that they have, and they were able to fight them off, but they expect them to return again soon. Right then, Nall senses something odd--before anyone can do anything, a monster appears and attacks.

Grand Doom The battle with the "Grand Doom" creature is a little tedious; it has high defenses but its attacks are also fairly weak. I suggest to begin by having Alex use Kiai as usual and Nash using Thunder Rain the first turn. Thereafter, have Alex use Sword Dance, Nash use Riot, and Mia use Flame Circle the remainder of the round. Have Jessica either attack or heal as necessary. After Alex runs out of MP, have him attack normally as the battle should be over in about 10 turns.

To save Luna, you must become a Dragonmaster! After the battle Mia thanks them for their help. She's heard about Mel by way of Black Rose Street and laments for Jessica. She asks if they'll accompany to speak with her mother about the issue. Lemia offers her condolences to everyone and tells Alex that the only way he can save Luna and defeat Ghaleon is to become a Dragonmaster--what's more, since Quark is now gone and Alex was the last to visit him, Alex is the only one with the ability to become Dragonmaster. He accepts, of course, and Lemia tells him his next stop should be the Red Dragon's Shrine, which is in a volcano south of the Nanza Barrier. Nanza just happens to be where Kyle resides too, Jessica says. Now exit out of the Guild (and re-equip Nash and Mia with their Meteor Rods, if you haven't done so already).

5.4) NANZA BARRIER - Kyle in Drag

Ohh noo! Aahh! Heeellpp Meee! Transport into Nanza via the White Dragon Wings and enter town. Approach the center and you run into Xenobia and the Vile Tribe once again--this time they're surrounding a defenseless "woman" and threaten to kill her if you take one more step forward. About here is where the "woman" quits the charade and reveals himself as Kyle. Kyle fights the two demons here--you should make very short work of them with plain attacks. Well, after this Xenobia flees once again before you can do anything about it. Kyle asks Jessica what's up, and she explains what happened to Mel back in Meribia. Nall then adds that Ghaleon is also the real Magic Emperor, and he kidnapped Luna at that. Kyle agrees to help them out; besides, he could easily become a hero in the process. Jessica asks if he happens to know where the Red Dragon Cave may be. He says it should be in the volcano in the Marius Zone to the south. So, that's your next destination.

H...How did you get that?! Now that Kyle is in your party, you should probably change around the Formation under Nall's menu to something more suitable--preferably Alex and Kyle in front, the mages in the back, and Jessica in the middle. Anyway, before you leave Nanza for the Stadius Zone, as soon as Kyle joins your party, you should head back to the main Shrine to Althena. Talk to a woman in the back room on the right side twice and she'll show a somewhat embarassing picture of Jessica to you. Jessica screams as to how she obtained it and takes it back. You should now have picture #48 in your Gallery collection under the options menu at the title screen. After this you can return to Nanza.

Heal Drop

Just as you said, boss. We protect the women and children for free Go to the southern exit out of Nanza and talk to the guard and he'll open up the gate for you. Go through and make your way through the mountain pass. It's more or less a straight run south to the exit to get to the Marius Zone; about halfway down if you take a path off to the east then you can find a Heal Drop but that's it (there are also two Red Chests near the first level, but you can't get open them yet). Once you exit on the other size, you'll be in the Marius Zone and can head to the first town you see.
